406ci sbc header tube sizes

Im building a 406 sbc. It has dart iron eagle 215 heads..2.05 1.60 valves. Victor jr intake. The motor will eventually hav a rons fuel systems mechanical fuel injection with a F1R procharger. im running to problems though trying to figure out what size collector, exaust, and header tubes I will need. If it is possible I would like to be around 1100 to 1300 hp when its all said and done. Can anybody give advice?

I doubt those heads will get you to your goals. The aluminum 227's would be the better choice. A set of 1 7/8ths headers to a 3.5" collector will work at that level. Not sure what car you are putting them in so your options may be limited.

Joelster gave you good advice on the exhaust. Are you building a race only motor? What type car, what's your build, trans, rear, suspension? We need much more information if you want advice. 1300 HP is extreme for a SBC street motor, even with a ProCharger, can you afford to feed it what it needs to make that kind of power without destroying itself?

My first thought is get some 35 spline axles, and you will not like a spool on the street, chatter and chirping tires around corners, in the rain it will be three times as bad, unsafe, it will wear your tires and be tough on axles. I have a late model Detroit Locker in a FAB-9 housing, Alston 4-Link, even it's a pain at times, and it's not anything like spool.

What block will you use, how much boost do you intend to run?

I will only drive it maybe once a week on the streets. And im gonna start with a stock block on less than 10 pounds of boost to get the car set up to hook. Then I will switch to a dart little M and plan on having a progressive boost controller to leave at 10 psi and 250 to 330 feet out be up at 30 to 36 psi. Im also running a turbo 400. Reverse valve body. Straight cut planetaries. And a 5500 9inch ATI convertor
