1985 Chev, swap to 87 305 tbi
Hey
My buddy has an 85 Chev 4x4, he's sick of the carb he wanted TBI so he picked up an 87 2wd Chev that had a 305 tbi for a donor. Now so far the engine is swapped, engine harness from the 87 is in the 85, computer was replaced, and with key on the grey 'power' wire to the ECM is getting low voltage, and no power to the pump relay. Orange wires are dead. Did we miss something here?.. Should the interior harness from the donor truck be swapped from the 87 to the 85 as well as the engine harness (that's a given).. There are extra fuses (ECMb, ecm1) in the 87 we just realized so I'm wondering if the extra wiring is what powers the ECM and engages fuel pump relay? Kinda scratching our heads here but that makes sense, Interior harness has extra power wires for EFI/relays Anyone make sense of that? Lol Cheers Register now (free) or login to remove ads |
