Shrunken vinyl.............

My convertible boot cover has shtunk over the years, so that it is very hard to stretch into place. It has also hardened. Anyone know of any way or any product that I can use to soften it up a bit. It is still in good condition other than that.

Thumbs up

Malco Leather & Plastic cleaner reduced 10 to 1 to 20 to 1
Depending on the dirtiness & condition& their protectant is good to

!st this cleaner is POWERFUL on a boat cushion that has a sunburn (where the sun Has burn it to where you touch it & get a powder on your Hand)

This product straight up will remove all the "dead" pigment & wash it away right down to the un dyed material

What I would do is wash it with these products & make some kind of a rack or stretching unit to get some excess back into the piece.

I have noticed on boat cushions that after using just the cleaner the vinyl is more supple to the touch & really kicks but in the cleaning dept.

test in a small inconspicuous spot 1st for color fast!!

New boots are available and I think you can get them close to the original colors, any upholstery shop can get you info on them. Jeff
