Shut off problem

all my hotrods are running right now.. but i do have a 1988 Mazda 626 2.2l full injection car (no cracks about imports) it cranks up idles in park idles and runs in reverse, idles in neutral but as soon as u put it into drive it shuts off. Any information on what may be causing this to do this would help.. cause this car would save gas and that means more money for me to spend on hotrod parts.

OK, Follow your air inlet tube (flexible tube about 3" in diameter) between your airflow meter (mounted to the box your air filter is in) move and flex this tube while the engine is running if the engine dies or stumbles real bad the tube has cracked and/or split (usually between the flex joints). I have seen many vehicles with this type of system do the exact same thing. As you put it into drive the engine torques to the back stretching the tube and opening the crack/split. this allows unmetered air in which will confuse the computer and kill the engine.
Check that and let us know what you find. If this is your issue you can use some good duct tape to temporarily seal it but you need to go ahead and get a new one because it will split somewhere else again.
