lluciano, I talked to my daughter today and she said that the Asacol didn't make her sick it was some other med, she said the Asacol did nothing for her, she read your post and you are taking the same exact dose as she was taking. She said she can answer a lot of your questions or just talk to you about what she can eat and some of the problems that she has had.

Just got back from another round at the hospital. I was there 3 days on an I.V.. It was another close one, but this time wasn't as bad as the last. They gave me 180 mg. of Solumedrol, (an I.V. steroid), and I had to fast for a total of 5 days. So far it looks like it worked.

The steroids made my knees and ankles swell to twice thier size. I also couldn't sleep for the entire hospital stay. It is a strange feeling being that sick, and having to walk the hospital hallway every hour on the hour.

I was wired out of my mind. Solumedrol makes my jaw feel like it is boiling, my heartbeat in such a way I can't catch my breath, and makes every joint swell up. At one point I was gaining 1 pound every two hours! That was all water weight gain at the joints.

I went back to work today. I was a little weak, but I made it. Hopefully this round is over, and I can go back to normally food and drink. I am taking 40 mg of Prednisone now. It is the oral steroid that you take at home. It looks like I will have to stay with it indefinitely.

Got to drive the Camaro yesterday. I got on it a little. My vision is a little blurry still so I don't think I will be opening the secondaries for a few days.

Hey lluciano,
Glad to hear from you, I was wondering how you were since you haven't been on, Jess, my daughter was concerned since you never contacted her, she's a worry wart. Bummer about the hospital but if it helps, not much you can do. Might sound stupid, since we don't know each other but I feel for you and know exactly what your going through, just hang in there any anytime you want to talk I'm here, just pm me and i'll give you my e mail. Get a hold of Jess and ask her any questions, she is looking for your mail and willing to help anyway she can.
Now onto the good stuff, what year Camaro do you have? I use to have a 68 ss/rs drop top. There is a pic in my album.

OK who drives the Ranchero? I can't believe you sold a 73 challenger, one of my all time favorites, wasn't lime green was it? Got any pics for us to see, both cars sound like they would be slammers.

I don't have any good pictures of the Ranchero or the Camaro. They are both primered black.

Here is a picture of the Challenger with the Camaro in the background.

If you look closely in the background of the picture with the Ranchero you can see the edge of a blue car cover on the right. That is my brother in law's '69 Charger. To the right of that is a '60 Cadillac. He also has a '69 El Camino. At the time this picture was taken he had a '67 Camaro also.

I am getting better each day. The abdominal pain is back to being liveable, and there has been no bleeding. I think I have escaped surgery once again. Now I just need to get past the side effects of the steroids.

I worked on my Camaro again yesterday. I kicked up the initial advance another 2 degrees, and then maxed out the accelerator pump shot. It just got a whole bunch more bottom end. Now I really can't get traction off the line!

It is at 18o initial with 16o distributor. That is on my 11:1 engine. It seems like the engine may even want more initial, but I have a feeling come summertime when it warms up, I will have to back it down a few degrees. We'll see.
