side exhuast exits or rear exits?

I am going to put a 2.5 inch dual exhuast on my 84 GMC 350/350. It will be connected to hedman 1 5/8 headers with 3 inch collectors. Will I lose any performance by just routing the exhuast out sides in front of the rear wheels?

do you have pics of your headers, i am thinking about getting some of those because my current ones sits way to close to the starter, and positive battery cable,as for the question, i think it will not hurt it any, it might even help it, i also know a website you might like, it is www.67-72chevytrucks.com it is for fullsize chevy's and gmc's from 47-98, i think you will like it

If you don't mind cleaning your wheels every
other day, go for it, but IMNSHFO, I'd rather see
them sticking out the back. If you're worried about
the Piping losses, run bigger pipes...
