side panels

hi guys & gals, ok not sure how to ask the question, so if i get you confussed throw a question back at me, i'am making the pattern for the kick panel's, door & side panels, do i weld a metal tab with a hole in it (for the clip) onto the inside of the frame, i have searched this forum but cant find any threads on it, its on a custom 28 essex pickup.

On a custom deal it is up to you..i know that is not really an answer but I would drill a hole or weld a tab or something to take the clips..

Sam is right, it's up to you and your specific car. How was the original kick panel attached?
