Signs of A Bad Bobbin Case?

I've been searching eBay for Singer 111W and have found that a lot of people offer bobbin cases for this machine.

So what kind of problems can develop indicating replacement is needed for this part?

About the only things would be the tension spring breaks, the threaded holes for the tension screws get stripped, you get a jam up bad enough to damage the case, or the spring loaded piece that holds the bobbin down breaks.
