Well IF I was using an intercoat clear I understand the build being an issue but even Kos say's to over reduce it for Kandy. After Jim's recommendation of treating (reducing) the intercoat like a base paint,as in THIN,less build with coats, As much a 1:2, It went much better. Just be warned that this much reduction will cause 2 issues.
1. It RUN'S VERY EASY, So following the usual recoat while still wet not stringy is out. It has to be almost dry before applying next coat along with good gun technique/speed.
2. Use GOOD TAPE. The extra solvent will wreck average tape and even the blue fineline get's a little "soggy". I had a couple of bleed thru's on the mask but it seem's to have cleaned up with the scotch pad from the look's of the first clear coat.

I am using a NASON BINDER not intercoat clear. This is part of the experiment.
This product IS thick like the IC so reduction has been best at 1:1-1/2 or so.
I am trying to NOT spend a fortune playing around with Kandy's & graphics so the binder was substituted in place of the IC till I get the hang of this "Custom Painting" gig. The IC is just a "covering" for further graphics as well as a transport for the kandy. I did not need a cover, just a transport.
Yeah I know, But nobody ever said I was sane.

One other thing, My Avatar pic, That's the top lid on my tool box.

Try as I might, I STILL can't freehand stripe for shemp.

Nason base coat never covers good with the 1:1 ratio.. i usually do the 2:1 ratio for it to cover good and even then some colors just need more coats.
