Exclamation Since I'm new here...

I never really introduced myself, but I thought I would, since I have been hanging out here quite a bit.

First off, I have a 1988 Mustang GT. It's not even close to being considered a "hot-rod." It's only 16 years old and not even close to anything as rare or classic as most cars here.

I started hanging out here because I got tired of the traditional Mustang crowd. A lot of them are a bunch of kids (even though i'm only 22) who belittle and rate people on what they do to their cars, ESPECIALLY if it's something that doesnt follow the "cookie cutter" (term borrowed from a good friend) design. Meaning that if you do something against the grain and different that has never been done before, your going to get looked down upon because of it. That's not the kind of place or people I want to associate with. I know all too well from the experience of others.

So I decided to hang out with fellow hot-rodders. People that know the true sense of building up a car from nothing but the frame, taking years of painstaking work and restoring, and crafting it into a beautiful piece of what was once (and still is) a piece of automobile history. The kind of people that you could call "genuine car nuts"

So here I am.. I know some of you don't care for the newer mustangs, but that doesn't bother me. You can't please everyone with what you drive, but you just have to enjoy what "does it" for you. That's why we are all here

Just because you don't have a cutting edge cool car doesn't mean you can't appreciate other people's cool rides and interact with the owners.

The right attitude can go a REAL long way

Welcome aboard W.O.T. Stang!
Its really the best to have variety in one's life. Boy, is there variety here. Sit down a spell and listen to the ole hotrodders tales.
My cars are probably only cool to me. Yes, even my 84 1/2 stang.
Be proud of yours and learn what you can here, I learn something all the time (not always knowing if its helpful).

Hey WOT, welcome to Hotrodders I have a '69 Mustang coupe and I still like brussel sprouts with cheddar cheese on top. How much more open-minded can you get? Heheh glad to have you aboard man. You have any plans for your car, or something new? Do share.

Thanks everyone!

I've had my mustang since 5/31/01 when I bought it with just over 70,000 miles on it. It'll be payed off in a few months so the big mods will start soon.

So far, it has a Flowmaster American Thunder Catback, 2.5" Off-road H pipe, 3.73's in the 8.8, Aluminum Driveshaft, Short throw shifter, 1.7 Crane Roller Rockers, Conversion to mass-air (i can hear you carb guys going "what is that!"), and underdrive pullies with a few other little mods.

Like I said, it's nothing unique yet but it's my baby and that's all that matters. It'll make it's own history soon when I get around to actually quit driving it, and start working on it. (29,000 miles in 3 years)

Here are some pictures

Thanks for the warm welcome, and i'll be sure to see you guys around

not to be showing my age, but when i was a kid , that year model 'stang, imo, was the first kool 'stang since the mustang II. in other words, it was the first one after a '73 that i'd own.

and the right color too.

edit, BS. i'd own an '82
