Before you do anything, replace the needle with a new one, and make sure the needle is all the way up as far as it will go in the needle bar, and that the scarf is facing to the right. Then I'd suggest you take it in anyway.
I have a brand new needle in it and I've double checked that its in all the way up. I know I have the scarf to the right as I reversed it to try it and it didn't sew at all! I have the book "Compound Feed Walking Foot Machines Maintenance-Repair-Troubleshooting" and I'll have time tomarrow mourning to pull it out and do some checking. I agree, I should just take it in, but I'm just a hobby guy and not making a living with it, so if I can fix it myself it would save me a bunch. I can see someone in your shoes taking it in to get it working right because you depend on your machines to make a living.
I'll play with it some and if I can't get it figured out I'll take it to Ariel. I found the business card he gave me and his name is Mike Mosure. He is the owner and seemed like he knew what he was talking about.
