single stage metallics

Can metallic paints be mixed as a single stage? When I buy paint at local paint store he always asks me if I want single stage or Base/clear

Yes . Metallic paint has been around long before BC/CC.

Take Care

you don't, what you spray is what you get. Also gonna be harder to spray then basecoat, since you have to spray the metallic even as well as keep good gloss.
If you want to do any serious amount of sanding and buffing, you are going to need to clear it, so why not just use a basecoat in the first place which will be easier?

Only thing I can add the base/clear will last much longer when metallics are involved especially.

exactly what I was thinking. Thats why I use bc/cc system only. I use single stage only for non metallic paint jobs.
