That has to be reset on your end. The upgrade apparently turned of the language setting on your browser.

In Firefox, just right click anywhere in the box when you are replying and you sill see "Languages". Click the button for English/United States.

What is supposed to be in the area where the red arrow is pointing? I know it's some kind of 'thanks' doo-dad, but I'm not seeing an icon, just one of those place keepers... is it on my end or is anyone else getting this?



Also I'm seeing what looks like a piece of a photo where the 'Multi quote' is at, red arrow below? Just me?

When I first came on here everyone´s PM count was visible which led to a kinda status symbol, I can see the "Thanks" button going the same way.

Why no font types, sizes and coloring of text either ?

I do notice a speeding up of the site, loading pics was way quicker than before.

I was hoping for more smilies, what we have are few and lame.

Anyway, the status icons to the left of the forums on the Forums page are also just image place keepers (shown below), like I'm seeing for the 'Thanks" button.



So to recap:
• Place keepers for Thanks button and Forum status icons

• What looks like a piece of a photo where the 'Multi-Quote This Message' button is at

Can anyone confirm that they are seeing something different and the problem is on my end and not the forum?

One other thing, black doesn't show up very well on the dark gray background IMHO. It looks better in the photo than in real life.

Hey Guys,

We are keeping an eye on the site issues thread, so thank you for letting us know what we need to fix. Please understand that it will take a bit of time to work out the kinks, but the benifits of being on a higher version of VB means the site can grow in the right direction.

In edit options you can change your display to the white which is easier on my old eyes..it is in your profile..

The thank you button is there as an incentative to the members to give good information..

Ooops...lost the spell check button ..There are some differences in the new software so we will all be going through the learning curve..

Now I needed a smiley and do not see it
in edit mode...

So far so good..

I saw the page on two different computers yesterday and didn't have that issue, so looks like it's on your end. Sometimes if a page is loading slowly, this may occur. Refreshing the page usually fixes it.

Yes, I have always done that. I've never liked the default black.

However, now when you change your mode to white, the post boxes have a gray background and I don't like that at all. The quote boxes are white. It would be much better if it were the other way around.

I also don't like the gray background in the tools area of the reply window.

Much harder to read than before.

The two little arrows are almost invisible to enlarge your reply so I've been going to "Go advanced" reply to get the smileys and the enlarge feature !! Its too many buttons to push to do the same thing! it was less complicated before! And did the same thing much easier Why do we need a quick reply when we already have a reply? No smile's on the quick reply and the only time you save isn't extending my life span any longer then a couple of seconds to push a button at the most!!!

What happens when you hit the thanks button at the end of each post? I hit it and see nothing??? The manage attachments is easier for me then the insert image by inserting the url? why do we need 2 different ways to insert information?

What's happened to the link insertion tool? Used to be we could insert a link with a look "Here" highlighted link to http: links. Now it's a double URL in the post that uses many lines of text. Look here: 468bbc-solid roller, post #5.


Edit...well, that was strange the way it posted.....looks like if you use the link tool it inserts a lot of text, if you simply copy and paste a URL it will post it as a link only, and work? But no naming of the link by the poster?

When using the Link Insertion Button, it will only ask for the url, and then detect the title on its own. But the title can still be changed manually afterwards before posting.
