i just noticed the ''quick reply'' window at the bottom of every post
very nice addition, always wondered why hotrodders didn't have this function.
now you can use the quick reply to post and hit the back button to get back to the forum
before i had to click reply to post, type my reply, click on post and the go into the back history to get back 3 posts

Have we lost the ability to do "Advanced Searches"?

IIRC, we used to be able to specify specific keywords ... and author ... in order to chase down a thread that we know has been discussed.

i.e. "302 351W block" and "66GMC" would have returned a thread that I participated in that contained pictures and text that were useful in pointing out the differences in deck height.

If you go to the top right when reading a post and click on "Search this thread"...the advanced search is there...just hard to find

Not sure if you are talking about the “old” search engine that allowed the author and key words to be used to do a search, but if it is:

Click on ‘Search’, just above the ‘Log Out’ button at the top right of the page. Once there, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and there you will see ‘For more results from the Hotrodders Bulletin Board, try the forum deep search.’ Clicking on forum deep search will get you to the old search engine.

The old search engine should be more accessible than where it is. Even putting it nearer the top of the page where it is now would help; where it is now, you'd never know it was there if you weren't told about it or accidentally found it.

Also, is it possible to export your own photo journal?

First I want to thank you for a great site.
But I have a problem.
When do you think that access to my photo journal will be fixed?
I have been trying to update mine for weeks.
Every time I go to photo journal it shows that I am not logged in. I log in and a screen pops up thanking me for logging in, but goes back to the same photo journal screen showing that I am not logged in.
I got a ton of photos to up date.

We're investigating and working on a fix for this problem as a matter of urgency. We're aiming to restore full access to your photo journals within the next 24 hours or so. I'll keep this thread updated with status updates.

I,m sorry I go down to enlarge my post out of habit and send my post early I posted twice I keep forgetting about those invisible arrows in the right upper corner to increase size that are GRAY on GRAY, And you have to be a fly and land on them to see them

I go to my profile and cant even find my journal!!!! I have to get there by clicking my last journal entry on my posts And then when I click on go to my journal it doesn't and I'm not signed in on that page I'm on !!!! Is that what everyone's talking about???? I still have no spell check At the bottom of my new post I have to right click and use mine , its not as good as the forums spell check!

I sure would like to see the gray backgrounds disappear when using the white skin that is set in the user's options.
Makes it very hard to read.

There's been many negative comments about this.

Can you give us some info regarding this issue?

I just went to my profile and tried to edit my biography by adding one word and it isn't working, it works all the way to the point of typing letters and when you type nothing appears when you hit save changes it doesn't appear

Yep, that's exactly what I was looking for ... and no kidding about the "you'd never know it was there" part.
