What program are you guys using to do these great sketches.

Malc took a picture of my truck and turned into a sketch I am not sure how. The rest is just paint or photo-shop after that.

Here´s the 39 Chevy in illustrator, I´ve cut the roof and copied it, then I can redraw the original and if I mess it up I can still recopy the original and start again.
I color mine in illustrator as well, here the Impala has a lightened black over a red plus I can do graduations for light.

Hey Malc, what version of Illustrator are you using, if you don't mind me asking? Have you ever fooled around with any auto-cad programs, doing this kind of stuff? Thanks-

I didn't get a chance to take those pics this weekend. In the middle of a MAJOR shop overhaul.

Took the pics of the car, and your sketches to the Gun Club last night. Everyone was amazed at YOUR pics...to heck with my car.....LOL

I did some whiteout/pencilwork for the grill and hood. Looks OUTSTANDING. I'll have to figure out how to use the scanner....

I took the headlight out and moved the hood back, I could´nt do much with the lines behind the headlight as I´m not sure what happens there.

Actually , Malc, you hit it right on the nose!

The top line of the fender , that kind of stops, is an attachment point . The very end dips down behind where the headlight was.

This drawing will give me the ability to come up with HUNDREDS of graphics/color combinations. Thank you sooo much !

You ought to make this service available, and market it! There has to be thousands of guys like me with crayons, but no clue how to get " a personalized coloring book".

Customizers to stock musclecars would like the service. I spoke to a guy at Hemmings about the Muscle Magazine, and where they get the illustrations. He was clueless as to where, but said that he gets requests about them all the time. SO much, that they keep a list of cars that the magazine covers so a guy could find the month/year the mag did a car like his.

Look at Foose. He does a line drawing, then colors it in.

Use that talent!

With Malc giving me some awesome line drawings I was able to play around with Photoshop to start getting some rough ideas of layouts for my Sponsors names.




Of course Rambo is not a sponsor but - he's the inspiration for the car - and will be a willing passenger when done!

By the way everybody, ive just done a few more hot rods with some new markers i got for christmas, and they look far better than my old ones! I'll be posing my 4th generation of online car art up here very soon!
