slicks and rim screws

Just ordered up a new set of slicks for the upcoming season....and as an after thought was wondering about rim screws....did not order any, and am thinking that I probably don't need them, but I have never run slicks before so what does the board think...? 3500lbs Nova SBC no tranny brake... good to go... or get the srews and be done with it?

Thanks
Nasty

Unless your making a boatload of horsepower and running very low tire pressures don't bother with the screws. I've been running my 3650 lb Chevelle on 10" slicks for a couple of seasons and no problems with tire slippage. I go as low as 13 psi and launch at 2500 rpm with no slip.

Mark the rim and tire and try it without. See how far it moves.
