not sure on the wording but think the metal is stepped/flanged so it slips into the quarter after cutting it out. Before you cut it out game plan where you'd be most comfortable welding cause that will affect how you cut it out. In other words, if you weld a part from the back you can save your spot weld bits and drill thru both panels and when the new one comes on you will now plug weld the holes already drilled when taking the part off. Just an example. Just be sure your door and fender are lined up properly cause you will using the door bottom as a guide to fitment as well as the fender bottom being flush with the rocker end. Always check fit before welding.
