I dropped in a driveshaft today. my slip yoke is pulled out of the trans 2" and in about 1 3/4". Is 2" of slip yoke out of the trans too much or will it be safe? I can get a longer slip yoke to go further in the trans but its that 2" out I'm worried about. (i know its supposed to be only an inch pulled out) I'm running a Stock SBC/th350 trans/to a Ford 9". thanx for any help
IMO, your driveshaft is too short, you'll need to have a longer one built. Your slip yoke should extend 3/4" from the rear of your transmission. With 2" extension, you'll get vibration (ask me how I know).
ther are diferent length input yokes for the ford 9in, look for a longer one probly cheaper than a drive shaft and will acomplish the same cliff
