Slipping out of gear

I have a 1949 Studebaker that is stock. I got it out this spring and took it for a test drive and it keeps slipping out of 3rd gear. I had some issue getting moving in first, clutch shattered. I have always felt that the clutch was week. Anybody know if I can make an adjustment to get me around for awhile or if it is the tranny not the clutch?

Sounds like you have some kind of misalignment between the engine and transmission...

This puts the input shaft on an angle, hence to gear isn't engaging properly. And it naturally brings other problems.

I found the problem. The rear motor mount bushings are completely shot. Studebakers leak a lot of oil and I think that did them in.
