I am new to the forum. I am looking forward to sharing information and gaining some new knowledge and insights to the hot rod side of the hobby. I am looking for some guidance on routing spark plug wires in my 48 Olds. I have a small block chevy with a 1974 block. The previous owner used cable ties. I am looking for looms or shields that will work with rams horn exhaust manifolds. The 74 block I have does not have holes in the block to fasten the older shields. Anyone have any suggestions. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks

Thanks. Your suggestion is a possibility, but I was hoping to route the plug wires under the exhaust manifolds.

This is tidy for me, going under the headers the wire will drop when you remove it from the plug.
This way I never mix up plug wires and you can remove the dist. cap and wires all in one lump. R&M Billet Wire Looms 1102K
As you probably know, going above with plug wires and rams horn manifolds means the wires will get cooked where they lay on the exhaust. Best to keep them underneath as you planned, and use some brackets to drop down from the lower valve cover bolts.
You could get something like the Mr Gasket wire loom adapters #9870, and then instead of using the small 90 degree brackets to mount them above, make small aluminum sheetmetal brackets to locate them below the rams horn exhaust. Or just make the sheetmetal brackets to drop off the valve covers and tie the plug wires to a hole in the fabbed bracket. The aluminum sheet is easy to bend and cut into strips, and gives a nice finished looking support.

I like that idea. I checked out the Mr. Gasket looms. I can easily fabricate some aluminim brackets. I also like the idea of fabricating a couple brackets to drop down for fasteners. It is a little cold here yet and I have the exhaust manifolds off. As it warms up, I will try and make something that looks clean and works. When I get done, I will post some pictures. It may be something someone else can use. Thanks for the suggestions.

Jeg's has wire looms for under header routing. May be what you need. Anyone else that needs the long alum wire looms like mentioned above, google White Performance engines, they have alot of stuff like that. I got a 31 in alum rad for $110 that is real nice.
