small chamber heads

I'm trying to identify a set of heads on my 1968 396 chevelle. i don,t believe they are the original heads. The build sheet from 2 years ago just says small chamber heads and were charged $3031.00. The numbers are 34875KO2GR there is a 310 stamped on the right head. I would appreciate any help with this search. Thanks

Look under the valve cover for a cast in casting number (not stamped). It will read something like "3917215", "3917219", "3919842", etc.

For that kind of money, they may be aftermarket heads.

The 215 heads have around 100 cc chambers, oval ports, and were also used on the 390HP 427, among others. They're considered closed chamber (you may hear them called "semi-closed") and are OK for a closed chamber head.

They were cast August 31, 1967- so could very well be the original heads to the car.
