small steel 1/4in fragments in tranny pan 700r4

I removed my trans pan and found small metal round cylinder fragments, does anyone know where these fragments came from in a 700r4 tranny? tranny only went in overdrive, has no reverse,1st,2nd or 3rd. Please help, not to familiar with tranny problems, just don't want to get ripped off.

Are there also little flat pieces of brass looking stuff too? Sounds like the sprag or one or both of the planets let go, probably took out other parts too. Might not be a cheap build if other parts went south too.
