It depends on the trouble code. If it is a hard code, (problem is still there,) then the check engine light will come on immediately.
Other codes, the computer goes through a self test and it may take a few drive cycles for the test to run to see if the problem is still there. So it might take a few days. Using the scan tool, you should be able to check I/M readyness to see if certian tests have been run yet. |

You should be able to connect it, look at the live data and see what it thinks the reading is to see if the sensor is working.

They use 2 trip logic,
Drive it over 40 miles per hour, pull over stop, shut it off Redrive it over 40 miles per hour, If its repaired it won't come back, if its broke, the code will be loged Hth |
