So I'm making an air cooler for compressed air...

I decided to embark on the path of air cooler with a condenser that I have read about on this site and others. I found a condenser for $20 that doesn't leak from a Pontiac Grand Prix. My main question is this... Is there a specific condenser that I should look for that has larger diameter pipe? I am assuming that if I tap into this condenser from my compressor with a much smaller diameter pipe, won't it reduce my cfm? Any thoughts?

If you are concerned about removing moisture in the compressed air, you might want to consider using a Franzinator.

The franzinators work.....we call them expansion chambers(EC).

I went so far as to wrap the EC with 1/4" copper(ice maker line)that is "open loop",connected to shop's cold water line.It makes about 20 or so coils around the EC outsides, then exits into a bucket.

Under normal conditions we don't turn the water cooling on....but if we're going to be spraying a lot,or in any way have compressor running much,we set the water to a drip.

Also set it up to also use this water for an open loop Tig cooler....running waste into sink.

Ancient 60G 2 stage compressor.....with above system, the main tank rarely see's ANY funk/water.The EC gets cracked open about every other day,and blows out maybe a 1/2 cup.

I tried that and the condenser did not flow enough air to be of any value..The Franzinator reffered to does ork just fine..I place mine downstream from the compressor some distance.
