Probably because he has given up on brother and figures you still have a hope.

I doubt that he will give your brother anything else untill he pays up.

Pay your bill. It's a good lesson learned. Always pay your bills. That way you always have a sourse for more.....especially with dad. I know. I am a dad and have been through this many times.

Sell your brother on eBay

Seriously though, I know what it's like. I am the middle child and had to pay for everything myself. My brother got into debt with my parents over his car and they basically wrote it off over the years (along with insurance, gas, etc. because he came up a little short every week ). I payed my own bills (car stuff that is) and was pretty self-sufficient. I think it made me a better person. Going to college and getting into the real world really didn't impact me that much as I knew how to budget and work hard for things that I want. I see the last one to leave the house kind of gets a mix between the first two. Pretty much infinite freedom, but still makes a very good attempt to work hard and pay for things.

Mustang man maybe you should get a job? Then you won't have to borrow, and if you do at least you dad will know your good for it since you'd be working. I found your post a little confusing, would it be possible to get your rear and still get the track in the same day? If not don't worry the track will there next weekend. Cheer Up

Mike

mustangman, being a parent myself, some of us use the learn as we go process, this means that we try to correct the mistakes that we make with the first child while raising the second, so on and so on!! Sounds like your dad is trying to teach you some valuable lessons about money that your brother failed to learn! He probably believes that making you more responsible now will help you later in life! If you feel that you are unfairly treated by your dad, try to talk to him alone sometime, just make sure that you are calm and prepared to make your point!! What could it hurt?
