I used Diacom software a while back in my HS auto class when we only had one scanner. I liked it, it was simple to read and teach with because the bulk of the data stream was available on a single screen, and it was affordable. The version I got was GM only, and before OBD II. I think the newer versions will do GM and Chrysler OK. It isn't free or necessarily cheap, and you might find a cheap second-hand scanner somewhere for less. There may be other GM software out there as well.

I'm waiting for someone to write the software for an iPAQ/Pocket PC platform. Handheld, flexible... That would be very cool.

Hope this helps.

As long as it's the Palm OS check out Auterra limited. There's a few others as well and if I remember right they are gonna offer versions for different operating systems too. I think most of them are for generic OBDII systems, but some manufacturer specific versions are available. Even the generic version offers a datastream with a lot better looking screen fromat than the one in your link and did I say COLOR.
