Sold truck n camper. Buyin a Van camper!

Hey all.
Just sold my 92 Stepside extend cab and 21 ft pull behind camper to my bro for a very good price.
Looking at buying a 84 Chevy Van Camper. Its pretty cool and has 90,000 original miles on it. Has a big bed overhead, 2 bench seats that fold into a bed, stove, sink, fridge, toilet and small tub.
Im going to take the xtra cash and cruise my family to the beach!!! Maybe I can relieve some stress.
The AC needs recharged but it seems pretty cool. Wish me luck. HG

I bought a 77 Dodge conversion van a while back........it's great for travelling. And a lot less hassle than towing a trailer. We took it out to Yellowstone last year.

You said about the overhead bed. I understand that you are a big fella (like me).....That bed is not a good idea for guys like us. You barely fit and you will feel like you are in a coffin. I redid my van and put a big bed in the back....much better for sleeping in.

If the vans a rockin it just means Im trying to get outta that tight bed Ponch is talkin boutt. LOL
Seriously though. The overhead sleeper on this one pulls out and makes like 10ft long bed it looks like. The kids will have it and I'll use the 2 bench seat fold down bed.
Anyone ever see a tub and a toilet in a van? Its pretty wild, but will work if were at a place with no water hookup.
It has a water heater, fridge, stove. Im gonna get a big plug in Tv with a dvd player and a little microwave oven to.
heck, you'll never get me outta it. LOl
Its breaking up the stress a little anyways. HG

Isn't that a little small for a camper van? I was expecting a 350 atleast....

The 305 will work fine. I used a 305 in my old Chevy van pulling a 19 ft trailer. No powerhouse, but cruised along good. The Dodge has a 360....the extra cubes cost you in mileage. Wish it was a 318.

Is it 1/2 or 3/4 ton suspension, Hemmie.................The 1/2 ton will sway a bit more. Make sure it has light truck tires on it, not passenger car tires.
