solenoid and alternator wiring

I have a 54 Ford F100 and got wires from remote starter solenoid and 1 wire alternator burnt and I am trying to replace them from memory. I need a wiring diagram showing the battery to remote solenoid and then to alternator. The first time that I hooked them all up, my alternator got really hot and stared making noise like belt slipping. Can any one help?

Doc here,

Sounds like you burned up the alternator. You need to have it tested..It may be the reason why the wires burned up. IT SHOULD have had a fuse link on it, to SAVE the wires from damage.

The wire at the solenoid should be straight forward, Battery cable to on big bolt as well as the alternator FUSE LINK and wire, The other big bolt to the starter, the "S" terminal goes to the start position on the ignition Via the NSS switch, and the "R" or "I" wire is secondary Ignition (if used) to the Coil +.
