I gett the Drunkin Jethro's ,<< straight out of Co- Starring in the Movie Deliverance, and there Porsche motor in a Bug Story .
Im well aware it's Possible too install a Porsche motor in a Bugg .
But it's more trouble than it's worth , Doesnt Putt out near as Much Horse power as the Type -1 Buggg motor .

Went to school with a story teller. He had a "V8 6 cylinder" in his cavileir. and it did "180mph". He put it into a tree at "180" and he had the nuts to brag about this story. In 1963 I ran a '40 Ford coupe with a 283 Chevy (Duntov can and 3-97s). I got into a race late on a Sunday evening with a guy who was also driving a '40 Ford coupe but with an early Olds. I beat him but my fan belt broke. My 2 friends and I pulled into the closest gas station that was open and asked for a fan belt for a '57 Chevrolet. The attendant was struggling to find a listing. In the mean time, one friend and I were trying to match belts from the rack with the remains of mine. After the gas jockey spent 10 - 15 minutes looking through his catalog he told us there was no listings for a '57 Chevrolet. One friend opened the catalog and pointed to the listing for the belt we needed. The gas jockey then said "You asked for a belt for a "Chev-row-lay", this number is for a "Chev-row-let". One of my friends came close to decking him for wasting our time and being so stupid.

We have them in England too, I worked as a mechanic for years at a Ford dealership and had an apprentice who claimed that his 4 banger 1300cc Escort did 145 mph, when I queried how he knew, since the speedo stopped at 110 he told me he had fitted a Ferrari speedo head, I spared his blushes and didn`t ask any more probing questions.
Just for the record we always refer to engine mounts and never motor mounts, transmissions are always gearboxes, motors are called engines and chassis frame rails are called chassis legs, I try to use the language that you guys use when using this site to avoid confusion, you know the sort of thing you have hoods and trunks we have bonnets and boots and just to confuse things a bit more we refer to tyres as boots
