so one of the guys i used to work with, his uncle had an 8 second twin turbo supra, it was the fastest street legal car. so i go "hey i'd like to meet him and have a look at his car." he goes "well i would introduce you to him but he lives in japan". how convenient. Also my friends car can break the rear tires lose while doing 70 if he stomps on it. One of my other friends blew up the v6 in his 90 blazer. so he's bragging for months about how he is building this killer 350 for it, its gonna be blown and have nitrous. i don't see him for a while during summer, then i happen to meet him in walmart. he says he put the 350 in, and not only was it blown, it was turboed as well. the first time he took it for a drive it did a 4wd burnout for a block before the engine blew up due to the amount of boost. then when i went over to his house the v6 was still in the blazer. apparently he sold the 350, the blower, and the turbo and put the v6 back in. wow he works quick.

Guy told me he had a V8 turbo charged Nissan Sentra that was stock from the factory. Even popped the hood for me. Said I didn't understand what "V8" meant when I pointed out the total of 4 spark plug wires. I miss that guy.

I haven't read all of this thread, but I sort of have an idea of what's in it. I have heard so many stories over the years, that I've forgotten most of them. Fact is, a lot of folks just ain't real smart about a lot of stuff, but they feel they need to fit in; some resort to talking above their level of understanding, and they don't realize what they are doing

A guy told me about a friend of his who had a Jag XKE with an Offy engine in it. OK, I'll buy that, many different swaps have been done, and that one isn't out of reason, but then he said it was a V8. That stumped me; I never heard of an "Offenhauser V8", but then, I am not all knowing, either. One day, he took me to his friends house, and showed me the XKE. His buddy rolled that bonnet open, and sure enough, there sat a V8, with Offenhauser valve covers, and an Offenhauser logo on the air cleaner top - a nicely done Ford 302 swap. Now, my friend is real smart about some stuff, but automotive stuff ain't in the mix.

When I was a Junior in high school a kid drove a very nice 71 Chevy C10 to school one day. I commented on how nice his truck was and how good it sounded. He responded by saying, "Thanks, it's got a 383 with the second biggest cam that's legal for the street"

Another guy once told me the reason why they use manual transmissions in NASCAR. It's so they can push the clutch in when they go into the banked corners and the cars will accelerate more.

a kid i went to highschool with had this camaro sitting in his yard...and apparently not only did this car have a 6-71 blower a carbon fiber front clip and a "solid carbon fiber drive shaft" it had so much power that once he revved it up and dumped the clutch only to have the transmission fall right out of the car onto the ground. it wasnt uncommon for him to outrun the police two or three times in a weekend. one time they chased him clear from new york but finaly got him at his house...and took his car...my guess is his dad got tired of having it rusting away in his yard and had it hauled away for scrap. this is just the stuff i remember. it was something new every week. i finaly got tired of calling bull shi** on him and just nodded my head and asked him when i could see it...funniest thing, i never got to.

another kid had a yamaha blaster that would run 80 mph because he got an upgrade kit. did all the work himself. I asked him if he had the new aftermarket cams that just came out for it..and of course he did...too bad a blaster is a 2 stroke.

some should not be allowed to reproduce.

pistons for blower

One evening years ago, I stopped at a friends shop where they were working on a 427" motor to go in a 1964 Corvette. They had a piston in the vice and were cutting the domes off with a hacksaw for a 6-71 blower. I commented, YOU CAN'T DO THAT, and at that moment a hole appeared, as the domes were hollow...TRUE STORY, about dumb moves !!!

guy says he will kick my but

so I pull up to local cold beer store in north van in my 67 rambler 400 small block 700 r4 308 gears used to love setting off car alarms on any given street just cruising slow let the cam lope.

scruffy looking dude smelling of boozz comes up to me and says Ill kick your but And I says with what? he points to his rusty 72 ford long box with snow tires and studs and single 1 1/2 exhaust tip and about 600 lbs of garbage in the back he said it had a big block in there and it would beat anything. I just raced an iroc z from the lights and kicked his ***. I thought to myself they probably didn't want to get hit buy any garbage or the sparks from the tires scared the crap out of them

I had no Idea how to reply to guy except that I laughed my *** off all day http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j...F1/scan0002.jpg
