Some pics of my soon to be car

Well, after 2 weeks of making you guys wait, here are the pics. I got out there this morning at about 9:00AM. Went back behind the barn and saw her.
.

Nice aint she. How bout another.
.

And another.

How bout a shot of the rear bumper. This is gonna require some work but thats what its all about.

Well, I'm for the time of my life aint I? Sheesh.

Step 1. Get it home, and rolling.
Step 2. Clean it out. Take the old rotted seat out, and look at the floorboards and see what we have to work with.
Step 3. Try and get and engine to turn.
Step 4. Have fun.

Alex

Congrats Kid. For a first car it looks like a great find. Better start saving the pennies now cause your gonna need them. Hopefully the pans are good. One good consolation is that remanufactured parts are out there. Good luck.

Hey

Thats great man.

So do you know how you are going to get it home yet? Maybe it could be started. Couldn't hurt to try unless you already know of major engine problems or something.

Actually, it doesn't look that bad. (but I've been working on mine lately lol)

I'm really glad to meet you young guys getting into doing your own car and getting into rodding. It doesn't seem like there are so many younger folks getting into cars around here, which is kind of a bummer.

So get on it Hot_Rod, maybe I'll get the 'ol Must. together and come out and visit LOL!. (I have relatives in Iowa and Minn.)
Have a great fourth.
Roy.

Hey, Alex. That will be a very nice ride when you get it done. Looks like a lot of rust at the bottom of that left rear panel. Like Kev said they make parts for those so that will make it a little easier project for you, especially with your dads help. I like it. Keep us posted with progress and pics. Oh and I noticed it had Minn. tags too! (Had to kid you) (It's my nature)

After re-reviewing the assend, i agree.

so what was wrong with the chevette?
i really like the starsky and hutch stripe on it.

we know where all of HRK's spare money and allowance and paychecks are going now.....

when i was a kid, got my first job, my pop had told me he'd go halves with me on a car..... well, three months later, my pop asked how much money i had saved up.... i had to tell him 'none.' he freaked, asked me, "what, are you on dope?" i replied, 'no, i'm buying a motorcycle, i have about 200 more dollars to pay on it.' ( i was afeered he'd say hell no if i asked to get a scoot. so i did it behind his back, and he didn't skin me for it.) nothing like your first ride.

i admire your conviction man... that ride is going to take quite a share of work!

Better find out how much mud that badboy has in it before you buy it... looks like some sanding has been done-

Are you sure it's a 62'???????

Two piece tail/back up lights, 5 lug wheels, and no marker lights in the grill would make it a 65'.

I can feel your pain on the amount of work you'll need to do to the old girl, as I'm looking at a 65' Nova as well. Mine is sitting in a Field without a motor or trans. I'll post a pic or two in my photo album for you to see what I am starting with. Dan

Gor for it, don't get discouraged, you already have a picture of what the car will be in your mind. I'll be waiting for the final pic on your journal.
