Yup, the bad boy of the late WWII-early cold war Soviet tanks. It was originally called the JS-III (or the JS-3) untill Old Josef became persona non grata after his death.

One mistake, Tom. IS-3 was his own model,early name of this thing was IS-7!

Really? I always thought the JS3 became the JS10 after Stalin died. I have never heard of a JS7. I suppose you would know coming from an area riddled with WW2 battlefields. Could you point me to some on-line info on this?

Thank you so much for a really informative and interesting link. That website has a lot of info that I haven't seen before (and that is saying a lot because I have been a tank nut for many years) and I will be sure to spend a lot of time there.
