DOESN'T IT TAKE LIKE FIVE MINUTES TO SHIFT GEARS W/A COLUMN SHIFT? BY THAT TIME THE ENGINE HAS GONE BACK TO SLEEP SO HOW COULD A TRANNY EVER BLOW UP WHEN YOURE SHIFTING AT IDLE? <img src="graemlins/spank.gif" border="0" alt="[spank]" />

Let my cousin drive it, if he can't do it nobody can, he actually powershift on the tree but I don't think he's scattered a tranny yet, just bent parts.

I broke a slider gear in a T96 three speed with a column shifter once. It must have been the high torque motor I was running. (Rambler 196 OHV)

Bullheimer...The only manual I have at this time is a T5 top loader and it aint slow at all thru the 1st four gears, sometimes 5th is a little tricky. Have never needed 5th except for freeway cruising anyway. And back in the good old days I never knew of an auto that could shift quicker than a Muncie 4 spd. Even tricked out MoPar 7**s.
