Someone plz tell me what these are......?

Hello all, I have an 1984 Z28,in the interior overhead console towards the windshield there are 2 roll and click counters. One says"celebration" next to it and the bottom one says "total". The guy I bought the car from says all he knows is they were an option for that year but has no clue what they're really for. I don't really care for them but I don't wanna tear them out if they will be of some value to the car. Lemme kno if y'all can tell me what exactly these things are and what their for. Thanks for the help.

I had an 85 Camaro with those things in it to. Don't have a clue what their intended purpose is...the celebration thing was always a real mystery to me....but I used mine for stuff like the mileage that my next oil change was due. Not exactly a celebration type event but......lol

I'll be real interested in seeing if anyone can explain those dials.

Nope it says"celebration" among a few other things. The bottom one says stuff like service, miles, kilometers. I have pics. Gonna try to attach them. Camera had hard time focusing.

Hmmm ... it does appear to say "celebration" ...

This WAS the '80's ...
Maybe it was used instead of singing "99 bottles of beer"

(Somebody's going to respond negatively -- so "I'm just kidding" in advance ... OK?)

Here is something I found...

Kind of a cool site if you like those cars.

According to the link Mike provided they are called "reminder spools" My guess is that "celebration" would be a way to remind yourself about a birthday, anniversary, etc.

It starts out with "Financial" and doesn't say "Celebration" until the last payment is made. LOL!!!

They are reminder wheels to be used for what ever you would like ie: service, appointments, b-days, etc. But you guys already figured that out. LOL.

PRMike and Barry: Those are two super links that are right on the button. If I had one if those, I'm sure I would set it and then forget what it was I set it for!
