a sorrowful day hath come!

I am now faced with the cold hard truth that I can no longet afford to drive my 1966 Mustang 3 or 4 days a week. At 10 MPG and 2.49 a gallon of 93 octane it adds up to a thicker stack then what is in my wallet.I am officially looking for an "economical" truck for a daily driver. I am also selling my 1978 C10.Just cant afford the dino juice to run these things. I guess I will get collector car insurence now and drive the Mustang on the weekends now and then. I will miss banging the toploader and letting the pony run after a hard days work.

A sad day indeed, a lot of us are starting to have the same problem. Soon I might have to go by a honduh just to save gas. Thats one day I definitly don't look forward to.

I live in CA. and in the SF bay area to boot! The gas thing is NOTHING new to us. I drive my rod on the weekends and on nice fridays, other than I stick to the honda, which gets about 35mpg.

My Malibu has not hit the pavement since last Sunday. I go start it every day, just to hear it though. It is easy for me to drink the gas,I work 14 miles from where I live and it is all Interstate there,so it flows with traffic, which rolls pretty well over the speed limit. The SHO requires Premium so it does not seem to be helping, but in the long run it is,since it does not drink as much my SBC does.As soon as I get around to the 3.8 in the Thunderbird,I will be even better. It is always something,I wish parts prices would drop a little at least.
