Sound Deadener Insulation

Looking for info on rolls of sound deadener types. I found three types of sound deadener; one is foil on each side with a layer of fiber insulation total thickness 1/4"; another is same as previous except air bubble center, and last is one side foil backed with fiber insulation total thickness 3/8".

Which type is better for sound deadening and thermal barrier? Which type do you guys prefer? Is one type easier to work with than the other? To apply do you glue it down? In the case of single foil side which side faces up; the foil?

I am planning on installing it under the carpet all the way back to where the rear seat back meets the trunk. Does this sound right? Should I install it on the passenger side door surface and run it back into the rear passenger comparment? It's going on a 2dr LeMans.

If you use the search function and type in "sound deadeners" you will find a lot more information.

Search google. This subject has tons of info. The car audio sites have oodles of in depth info.

I perfonally use a Butyl and foil mat with 1/2" Jute over it. I have been looking into 1/4" closed cell foam mats to further reduce heat and noise.

Good luck
