What is the deal with the high number of spammers lately? I'm talking about the ones with a female name followed by a number. For instance, hattie71 or lauraf99. They enter a sentence directly from a post somewhere in the thread. Like a kid mocking someone by repeating everything they say. I did notice one(before the Mods removed it) that had a link to some other "Ask" type site. What are they trying to accomplish? Seems I read that some have a tiny pixel that you can't really see in the post. If you click anywhere near it, spyware is connected to your computer. I have not had any problems regarding this, I'm just curious about what they are up to.

Spambots we think..anyway it is causing a lot of work for the mods to keep the site clean..

Exactly- I've been trying to bust these guys by outing them to the mods every time I see one.

If you click on "Quote" as if you were going to reply to the post, you'll see the addy connected to the spyware or whatever it is.

All that appears in the post as seen normally is a tiny 1px dot near the period that ends the sentence, or an "X"ed out image, or nothing. But the addy is always there behind the scenes doing the dirty work.

I guess there are just a lot of deviants out there with too much time on their hands. I have a classified add for a hot rod on this site. I received a fraudulant offer using a falsified Pay Pal website requesting me to send money up front for shipment via Western Union. Pay Pal Security confirmed to me that it was a phishing scam. BEWARE HOT RODDERS!
