Spare Tire Bracket

I have a 57 short-bed. I almost bought a spare tire bracket from Craigslist, but noticed it was on a long-bed and did not have a strut that goes through the fender (totally mounted in front of the fender). Please confirm that the bracket for the short-bed is different from the long-bed? Is there more than one version of a fender with the hole for the spare tire strut? The model I need also has two struts that that mount on top of the side rail of the P/U body and a brace that fits between the fender and P/U body for added strength. The brackets are hard to find. Does anyone have one for sale? Finally, I have a machine shop that could fabricate the brackets and sell them for around $200 (at cost). Do you think there are others out there who are looking for a bracket that would meet or exceed OEM specs?

Here is a photo of a shortbed spare bracket:

Notice the angle on the right is two pieces, one piece goes above the fender, the other inside the fender:
I made a hidden bracket for my truck:
The short bed fender has the hole for the bracket (as you mentioned) and the cut-out for the spare is higher and farther back than a long bed fender:

A long bed fender I used on my shortbed:
A stock short bed fender:
I like the look of the spare tire lower.... compare the photo above to my truck below for a comparison:
