Post spark plug gap?

i have a 70 350 that has been upgraded with HEI. a friend of mine told me to gap the plugs at .45 is that a good gap? there's a lot done to teh engine if you need any more info just ask.

Thats the factory setting and should work just fine.

Wasn't there a small block, a 262 or something like that in 75 or 76 that has a spark gap of .60? Seem to remember something weird like that. Slow burn or lean burn or something? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

well im a machanic and if we ever have to set the gap on sum plugs we just put ot so there is a nice gap in them but if u really wanna get it dead rite use a feller gage

TM, many late model engines are still using .060" spark plug gap. With leaner fuel mixtures, the wider gap helps to light it off a little better.
