spark plug gap on BBC
I have just upgraded my HEI to an accel super coil.(the big yellow can remotely mounted.) It is working great, but I am curious what advantages or disadvantages could be realized by increasing the spark plug gap. I am currently running at about .035"- .040". I am running approx 9:1 comp. 454 BBC with 781 heads. Can you get a hotter spark with bigger gaps? are there problems with bigger gaps on the upper rpm/higher cylinder pressure situations? So far the improvement with the swap is noticable, just wandering if there is more to squeeze out of it yet. Thanks.
