Spark Plug Gap, Timing

Anybody know where to find information on the spark plug gap, timing, and points gap for a 1970 Pontiac GTO with a 428? I am replacing components and don't trust how they were set before, any help appreciated.

well my book only listed a 428 in 1968-9 so here's what it says....1968--plugs-035.... point gap-.016.... Dwell-28-32.... timing-9* BTDC--------

1969-- everything is the same as a 68 but the Dwell says 30...... hope this helps you......joe

Thanks TooMany, that does help, where did you get your book? I have only been able to find a restoration guide and not a manual. Thanks, Scott

its a 1972 "MOTOR" auto repair manual (same as a Chiltons) I bought at a swap meet for $20 yearssssss ago. you can still buy them new if you want to send the $$$$$$, you could go to your library & copy what you need also, cause I know our library has them, new ones & older ones for lots of different cars & trucks.OR check the swap meeta for them also.......joe
