man i went through 4 grinding stones and gave up, i even tried using stepped drill bit, but the metal was just too hard, i was trying to use a 3/8 drive craftsman...did u use a half inch drive? well either way i got one now so it doesnt matter, but im just curious

Chucked it up in a DeWalt 14" metal chop saw and made quick work of it.

cutting down the socket is not the problem, it was making the 3/8 square big enough to fit the porclin through.
