Specific TH400 identification
I recently bought a 69 Chevy step side PU. It has a swapped in 400 SBC from a 73 Caprice according to the casting numbers and engine ID on the passenger side head front . The tranny is a TH400 based upon the pan shape and the modulator location. I found a tag riveted to the case on the pass side of the tranny with the number 510 in the top center and CD67- in the lower left and 88956 in the lower right corner. It also has CFD1A and 8623214 AW cast into the rear of the case on the same side. Any way to tell the year and vehicle type it is from?
