Traveling through northern Minnesota on a fishing trip, I was pulled over by a state trooper who was going the other way, crossed the median, then came up behind me to pull me over. He lectured me for having my cruise control set at 57 (which I did, but have no idea how he knew that and it was the only way I could consistantly go that slow), when the limit was 55. He went on for 15 minutes telling me that limit was 55, not 57. I am reasonably certain that we were actually doing 53 or 54 as the speedo read a little high on my Silverado.

56 in a 55 zone

Had a similar thing happen. Wife and I were on a nearly deserted 4 lane divided state hwy in Florida. Came upon a state trooper in a marked mustang doing a rolling roadblock in the left lane with his cruise on 55 while trolling for speeders on the opposite side. After following him at 54 for an agonizing 30 minutes or so, wife put the cruise on like 55 1/2 and decided to test him. As we slowly eased pass him in the right lane, he got behind us, pulled us over, reamed her butt out and gave her a warning ticket for 56 in a 55. Told us if we got another ticket in Florida, they would throw the book at us. We figured he was in a bad mood cause he was having to work on Labor Day.
