speedo cable installation
Well it may be a no brainer to some but i gotta ask it .... how do i correctly install the spedometer to my transmition? Do i just stick the small gear at the end of the cable in to the opening on the trans, or is there a special way and a clip? I truely have'nt the slightest idea. The car is a 70 cougar and has a cruis"o" matic transmission. I would apreciate the help. thanks

There should be a clip that secures to the tranny case via a hex head machine screw, which holds the cable in place. make sure there is a good O-ring on the tranny gear shaft somewhere, there is a groove cut into it for the O-ring.
