Most of the sppdo housings have an inner and outer seal.
Also the speedo housing can whear out. Look for an oval opening in the houling. |

the cable haas an outer casing that was split.looked like it was coming from there. i put some 200+mph electrical tape around it to see if it stops it from leaking there. if so ill go get a new one

If you take the cable off the tranny and remove the retainer bolt and plate you can then remove the speedo gear and housing. There is a seal in the housing that is probably your problem. Replace it and the o-ring and you should be fixed up.The seal keeps oil from getting into the cable. Hope this helps.
