Only have about 100 miles on the engine since installing these lake style headers. The finish still looks like new. One note: after installing them and before starting the engine, clean any oil/grease/fingerprints off the ceramic coating or that will burn on the headers.

I used Sanderson's on my sand drag Jeep with small block for several years and never had a problem. They seemed well made. Only issue I had was the tubes were not exactly equal length, but if your car is not a racer, it'll not be an issue.
Speedway used to sell quality stuff, but I don't know if they still do. |

Do u know that for a fact ,or are u guessing? I've bought several things from speedway and they have all been very good quality, but not sure about headers.

The Speedway Headers are coated locally in Lincoln NE, I had a problem
with them on my T. Had a certified GM mechanic test run my bucket last summer with an old set of derby headers, got everything right, put the so called ceramic coated ones from speedway on there and they turned dull on one side only, and not on all of the tubes, and not all the way around ,,,just in certain spots. Sent them back, coater would not warranty them. Took 4 weeks and 10 phone calls just to get them back. This is the only problem I have had with Speedway. |

I think Patriot products are a-OK, This
is what I do know, I had a problem with the coating on the headers, Speedway gave me the coaters #, I called, and got the boss/owner, and it was arrogance at its highest level, no way no how was it the coatings fault,,,the guy was a jerk. period. Ask Speedway for his #, call him and ask him, suppose I have a problem with your coating? He will answer like, thats like having a hot knife that wont cut thru butter, impossible! |

Does any one know of any coating problem with coating or otherwise from sanderson? One thing in speedways favor right now is they are $35.00 less and they are having free shipping for the next week which is probably another $35.00 which would give me extra $ to buy something else

Seems to me, if Speedway is getting their headers coated locally it's because they can't find the technology elsewhere..... Yes Paris, I do mean to suggest their headers are made in some other country and you're right, I don't know that as being factual.
If their headers are made overseas, they may not have found a place to do the coating there or maybe the additional packaging and shipping makes it prohibitive to have it done over there. Or, maybe they've had problems and can't get the problems resolved overseas. However, I'd bet a warm cup of coffee Speedway isn't paying there local coater top dollar either and maybe, maybe his proposal to Speedway to do the work didn't include an a**ache-fee for time on the phone with Speedway's customers. I think it's poor sportsmanship and a bad business policy for Speedway to pass the buck to a sub-contractor. Speedway is the supplier of the finished product. If there are issues, Speedway should resolve the matter. Be happy Speedway didn't give you the phone number of some Chinese sweat shop ceramic coater. |
