Well I have used their (SPI) epoxy as a top coat on a custom 35 ford roadster probably 2 years ago and it has held up very well. I mixed and sprayed 2 coats at the 1 to 1 ratio unreduced and has a nice satin sheen to it. It does however scratch and mark up like primer will so you have to be a little more careful as to rubbing into it. The ford guy tells me he takes some furnichure polish and gently wipes it down with that to get rid of any smears or rub marks, and does make it look pretty good. This is a car he has no intentions of ever painting with a colored top coat.

He doesn't have SPI on it,, Not really sure what he has on it,,, But week's before the show it look a gray color, Then he wipes it down to go to the show and it is BLACK !!!! I told him he will have trouble if he ever painting it,, He said he never will..

I was thinking that very same thing, all this polish all over every panel (kind of like armor all) imagine the fish eye problems when you go to paint this......

SPI = southern polyurethane fnd em on the web and they do ship so you have it in 2-3 days..I ue it for everything unless I want color then I have to topcoat with bc/cc or single stage..I have some parts painted with the black SPI epoxy from several years ago and they still look good..For the guys who may have to do a repaint sanding and wax and grease remover just like you would do on any car that comes in for a repaint should take care of any fisheye issues. See we never have a clue as to what the previous owner may have used to polish his car with..
