spindle problem...

hey i was wondering if there was any other spindle off of another vehicle that would fit on a 1976 camaro. i need one really bad and i cant seem to find any other camaro in that range of year. thanks

I'm going to give you a very tentative answer. I had this all figured out about 10 years ago but I've forgotten a lot of it.

I *think* that (with obvious differences in caliper mounts, ball joints, etc) that you can use S10 or A/G body spindles. Confirm that before you lay down the cash, but I think that's the case.

I have a pair off a 75-79 Nova , that' the same as the 70-81 f-body. pm me if your interested.

Why back when I was a kid........ several hundred decades ago, GM would have an interchahgeability code in their parts books. I don't know if they still do this. Some bone yards also can give you commonality between makes/models.

As noted above, any 70-81 Camaro/Firebird or 75-79 X-body (Nova, Omega, Ventura, Apollo) is a suitable spindle donor. Others may fit but will not provide the correct steering geometry due to differences in the steering arms.

By the way, Hollander's Interchange Manual is the "bible" for what fits. Most wrecking yards have copies.
