37-48 spindles ARE NOT THE SAME as earlier spindles such as Model "A" or 32's -36. Earlier spindles have less vertical height. (about 1/4") will not fit later axles unless the king pin boss on the axle is shortened. Also the backing plate holes on earlier spindles are smaller as is the centering ring for the backing plates. King pins are also about 1/4" shorter than 37-48. Same OD. King pins on 36 and earlier have a big ugly bulb shaped bracket as part of the unit. I have sawed it off and inserted a soft plug in the hole. Also, 36 and earlier King pins are hollow!!

As for the small truck spindles. I have no experience with them, but, have read that they are the same.

I want to buy steering arms that bolts on the holes of the round back plate... I was wondering if they will fit if I drill the holes bigger,(if they are to small) are the holes the same distance apart? (the bolt pattern)
